The conference will be taking place at the Eastland Park Hotel located at 157 High Street, Portland, ME 04101. The Eastland Park is located in the center of Maine’s largest port city, just minutes from the Portland Jetport and the Portland International Ferry terminal. The Eastland is also convenient to Interstate 295 and the Maine Turnpike.The Eastland Park Hotel celebrated 80 years of history in 2007. Rich in tradition, yet charming and delightfully understated, this Downtown Portland Maine Hotel is conveniently located in the heart of downtown Portland’s acclaimed arts and shopping district. The hotel is surrounded by quaint galleries, outstanding restaurants, upscale shops, and museums, including the Portland Museum of Art and The Children’s Discovery Museum.

The Eastland Park Hotel, a Portland Hotel, is adjacent to Congress Square, an outdoor city-center plaza reminiscent of its European predecessors, and is only moments away from Portland’s famed Old Port waterfront, and the downtown financial district. Visit the Top of the East, Portland’s only rooftop lounge, at the Eastland Park Hotel, for a breathtaking panoramic view of all that Portland and Maine have to offer.

A block of rooms have been reserved for the conference from Wednesday 10/14 — Sunday 10/18, 2009 at the special rate of $129 single or double plus applicable taxes (currently 7%). To make your reservations, contact the Eastland Park Hotel at 1-888-671-8008 or 207-775-2872 and identify yourself as a Birth Works International Conference participant to secure the conference room rate. Parking is available in the Gateway Garage adjacent to the Eastland Park Hotel. Overnight guest’s parking is included but does not include In/Out privileges. Currently hourly rates at the Gateway Garage are $1.25 per hour. Please note the Gateway Garage is a privately owned company not affiliated with the Eastland Park Hotel. Rates are subject to change.

The hotel’s standard check-in time is 4pm and checkout is before 11am. The cut off date for hotel reservations at the conference rate is Tuesday September 15, 2009 or when the reserved block of rooms sells out. All reservations must be guaranteed with a major credit card. The Eastland Park Hotel is dog-friendly.

Continuing Education Credits

This continuing nursing education activity has been submitted for approval to ANA-MAINE, an accredited approver by the American Nuses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation. Application is also being made for: CERPs from IBLCE, and ACNM specialty credit.

Conference Recordings

Each Full Conference registrant will be provided with an MP3 - CD recording of most conference sessions. Though anyone may PRE-PURCHASE the recordings for $129. Conference CDs and individual sessions of the conference will be available for sale after the conference to the general public at retail price ($199).

Food & Beverage

On Thursday, October 15th, 2009, during Pre-Conference Sessions, continental breakfast and beverage breaks will be provided. Lunch and dinner will be on your own. Friday, October 16th, 2009 to Sunday, October 18th, 2009, during General Conference Sessions, breakfast, breaks, and lunch will be provided. Dinner will be on your own.

If you have any special dietary needs or requirements please indicate so when registering. There is a restaurant located within the Eastland Park Hotel but there are also several in the area within walking distance. A list of local restaurants will be provided in your conference packet.
