Recertification

Educator Recertification
After you have become a Birth Works International Certified Childbirth Educator CCE(BWI), you will receive the first year of your recertification FREE. From then on, recertification fees will be due every two years along with minimal requirements.
Recertification requirements include the following:

  1. Attend a Birth Works Childbirth Educator Workshop (CEW) OR an advanced CEW, OR a childbirth related conference, seminar, or workshop and write about the experience.
  2. Write an article for the Birth Works newsletter or for a national magazine.
  3. Read one book from the highly recommended reading list and write a book report.
  4. Facilitate a minimum of one full class series a year OR three private classes and provide the office with a list of class participants. If there were special circumstances that made it impossible to teach at least one class, please mention these circumstances.
  5. Make sure the office has up to date information on file (name, address, email, etc).
  6. Payment of recertification fee.
